Hi, my husband is a keen fisherman. We have just moved to the Wirral and he was talking to another fisherman in New Brighton who told us about your club and someone called Phil or Philly who is a fisherman who has/had a B&B, he wasn't sure if he still had it and he didn't know what it was called. I love Ireland, but havent yet visited Tralee but would love to stay here. If Phil/Philly hasn't got a B&B, could you recommend anywhere else to stay. Thanks. Look forward to hearing from you. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Simon Coveney, TD has confirmed tous that he is ‘not proposing changes at this time to the current arrangementsin relation to bass fishing.’
Referringto the 2009 request by FIF toallow the commercial fishing of sea bass in the Celtic Sea, the Minister has just informedus that ‘In the intervening period thisproposal was not progressed and the Minister considers that the proposal haslapsed at this point.’
His statement comes on foot of our request fordocumentation about the advice he has received on the proposal.
We have thanked the Minister, not only on behalf ofthe sea bass, but on behalf of all the sea anglers and local communities whobenefit from sea angling – and from those of us who love the environment andare so saddened to see what has happened to our once thriving coastal fishlife.
Take a bow, all of you out there. One for the goodguys.

Good to hear from you. If ever you fancy a trip back to Tralee Bay get in touch. You will find that things have changed very little since the 70s - apart that is from the price of a pint of stout.

Hi Guys
Great site, brings back many memories.
Used to travel from Scotland in the 70s to fish at Fenit.
Fished with Dan Carty, and best day was 15 double figure Undulate, Thornbacks and Monkfish in really shallow water.
Now fish in Luce bay, mainly for tope and pollock and bass off the shore.
Best wishes and tight lines.
Dave
